(BEIJING, August 10) – The Artistic Gymnastics competition continued on day 2 with the Women's Qualifiers.

In Day 2's competition, like their male counterparts, China's women's team dominated the gymnastic stage, topping five of six events:

In Women's Team, China took first place with 248.275 points, followed by the U.S women (246.800). Russia came in third with 244.400.

Cheng Fei of China finished first in both Vault and Floor Exercise, with 16.150 and 15.750 points respectively.

Yang Yilin stood out in the Uneven Bars with 16.650. She was followed by Ksenia Semenova (16.475) of Russia and Anastasiia Koval (16.325) of Ukraine

In the All Around, the only event that is not topped by a Chinese gymnast, Shawn Johnson of U.S led the way with 62.725 points, followed by her teammate Nastia Liukin (62.375). Yang Yilin finished third with 62.350.
